Distractions and "oh look something shiny"

I found myself writing a huge blog and deleting it all to start over because the blog entry wasn't going in a direction that I intended it to go...lol...imagine that.

Do any of you have days where you know you have 1,000 things to do and you have the time to do them, but you find that you just don't want to? Yeah, I am there. Just like a child fighting sleep, I find myself looking at any little distraction and focusing on that instead of the other things that I need to do instead.

My SecondLife has been filled with DJing the majority of the time for the last 6 years I have been on the grid. However, I made a decision to walk away from DJing for the time being so that I can concentrate on modeling, blogging and photography instead. This is a decision that I am extremely happy with and have been supported on by those that matter to me the most.

Now you would think that not DJing anywhere from 20-30 hours a week, I would have more time to devote to other activities that I need to do. Does it work like this? Ummm No, lol. Now I find myself hitting up sale events, being more social with friends, and none of the things I need to do getting done. Not that sales and being social are bad things but I need to focus and schedule my time better to accomplish things that I need to do. Any suggestions?

A recent post entry that I did discussed my new found activity of sim hopping and finding all these new places to explore. LOVE IT! and I was also handed a few tutorial from friends (Thanks Joesanger Nirvana, Katelynn Ashland, Audrina Lynwood, and a few others!), as well as websites to check out. This outfit was so much fun! It is called Good Girl but I felt anything but good while wearing this lol. It gave me a very sensual feeling to it and the best thing is that it includes the top, pants (with belt) , shoes (with HUD), hat and jewelry. All of the items are of quality and excellent workmanship! These fit perfectly and didn't need adjusting. The shoe HUD allows you to change your skin and toenail color and is very easy to do.

I have to say that this outfit is pretty awesome as well! The second I put this skirt and top on, it reminded me of Italian designs, so I went to Venice and took this photo :)  . Wet N Wild!

What a week and it's only Wednesday!! This week has kept me busy, busy, busy (my imitation of the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland...lol)

Trying to prepare for Charltina's Anniversary Wedding Show, Classic with Style's October Model of the Month, the Face of Dot-Be, blogging for all my sponsors and not to mention the classes I have been taking with Charltina's Academy and Miss Virtual World Academy. Oh yes, all the classes have homework too lol..so yes, I am a little busy. However, I LOVE to be busy......it keeps me out of trouble because I was raised that idle hands lead to trouble.

Last night, I received a box from Charltina's that just made my day!! I opened it and there was an amazing sweater in my favorite color, PURPLE... lol  and matching pants!

My first thought was to try to style it using the information from the color theory class that I had taken earlier in the day with Kim Rongyu at Chop Zuey. So, the challenge began. I was looking at the color wheel and yellow was directly across from purple....so I thought that I would accessorize in gold instead of my normal favorite, silver.

You will notice that I am wearing the eyeliner from Damn and then TWO different eye shadows from Blacklace Beauty. Yes, this is on purpose....I put the larger eye shadow tattoo layer on first, then place the smaller eye shadow tattoo layer on top. This gives you the effect that you have different eye shadows on that you want specific color combinations in addition to the eyeliner.

Also, I did use an earring for a brooch, thank you to Jangsungyoung for that little tidbit of information :) came in handy for this shoot!

This next creation was quite fun and so was the photo shoot! I combined this ensemble then sat back and was like "where am I going to take a photo of this outfit?". My preferences have come to the  point now where I love taking pictures in-world and for this outfit I wanted some place fun and relaxed. Little did I know what I would discover!

 

The sweat pants fit like a glove and the top fits perfectly. Do you know how frustrating it is to buy mesh clothing and have to adjust your shape?! Honestly, with Moose Clothing I have NEVER had to change my shape to fit into something he creates and that is so awesome! The sweats come in a few colors as well as the top with designs on the front. Since I was mixing and matching this set, I played around with all the different options before deciding that this one was more suited to me :) I love the texture on the shirt and the detail so vivid as to show the stripes in the weave. Just awesome!

This next outfit was one that had me stepping out of my box just a little...lol. Yes, the dress is a simple one shoulder strap dress, but I am usually not one that likes the color yellow. This dress comes in a variety of colors, but I did want to try something different and that is why I picked this color. The gradients, stripes and shadows on this dress texture are very well done.  Never expect less than the best from Moose Clothing! The hair that I used actually came with flowers. Shocked me since I am NOT a flowery kind of girl lol, but they are a delightful addition. The Garden of Grace was the perfect place for this picture too. Lots of little nooks and crannies to find for a photos.

Ok, lol.....I find myself giggling in RL as I begin this entry because in my mind I am thinking "if they only knew". Let me expand a little.

Some people horde shoes or hair or clothes or jewelry.......well, it seems as of late (lol) I am a furniture and house horder. In addition to the shoes, hair, clothes and jewelry of course. With over 110,000 items in my inventory, I think I need a class on inventory maintenance lol. My husband says we will never need furniture ever again, but we will. I know I will come across some awesome piece that will go perfectly with something in my inventory...its bound to happen. So, because I just love furniture and interior designing, I am going to give it a go to blog about furniture and see how it goes.

Solitude

Have you ever had one of those days/weeks/months....whatever the length of time may be, where you just need solitude? Well, this has been my week....don't get me wrong I have spent time with people and doing the things that I normally do, but in some of the moments through the week, I have just been spending them mainly alone.

No, it isn't depression, although sometimes people that suffer depression don't want to be sociable. It is just that through all the hustle and bustle in my SL, it is nice and a welcome time, to just be at peace, in silence and reflect upon things that have happened.

It was in a moment such as this, that I snapped a photo on my beach which I still think is one of the most beautiful beaches in SL :) . Biased, I know lol. There isn't much to detail in my styling but I love this picture and hope you do as well. Enjoy!

Discover The Beautiful Secrets in SL

Secrets, we all have them, good or bad, everyone has at least one. Same holds true with Second Life!

All across SL are hidden away talented creators, beautiful sims, wonderful places to relax, dance, shop, etc. No matter what you fancy, you can discover many secrets here and for this blog, I did just that :)

Charltina Christensen has created these awesome dresses and I decided to explore SL to find little secrets to show them off. Both dresses are rich in color, and can be worn anywhere! I had so much fun styling both of these and I know you will too!

This first dress is from Charltina Christensen and is called African Purple Storm Dress. Purple is my favorite color and I love the way this dress fits and flows with my body :) The stockings and bows definitely add an element of sexiness.Awesome job!

The first undiscovered secret is a little beach sim that isn't quite open yet. When I spoke to the sim owner, Kae Nakamura, today she informed me that she wasn't quiet finished with it yet and it would be open soon. The sim is an amazing beach with yoga, boats, seating for a beach side coffee  house, and so much more! The second dress is also a Charltina Christensen creation and it is done in a wonderful and regal shade of yellow. The simple lines and flowing chiffon overlay top make this dress very romantic :) I love it!!!

The color of the dress reminded me of fall so I wanted to find a secluded corner where I could enjoy the brilliance of fall. I came across the Neva River and it matched exactly what I was looking for! My Pink-phobia

Moose Clothing recently released some new ladies pants and since I am from Indiana (home of the Indianapolis 500), I decided to wear the black and white version of these pants. These pants come in all kinds of colors and designs. Yes, I will admit it, I almost wore pink for this one! lol As much as I cannot stand pink, yes I almost did it (hides face in shame lol). I still didn't cross over to the dark side though and do it...A+ for effort though.  Maybe one day I will get over my pink-phobia..nahh, that will never happen.

So, yeah I picked the black and white version of these amazing pants and the quality is superb as always with Moose Clothing. Solostah Arabello never ceases to amaze me and he always produces such high quality items.

SL mimics RL.....or does it? lol

Yes, there are times that RL mimics SL and vice versa, at least that is my experience. On this particular post, I had a homework assignment where I had to find an outfit/styling from my favorite RL designer's runway show. The year of the runway show didn't matter, so I found myself scouring the archives of my favorite one :).

Well, I found the photo I wanted to use for this particular assignment and I wont tell you who the designer is yet but I will tell you it is from a 2010 runway show. This particular outfit was something that I felt that I would wear in RL but the skirt would definitely push me out of my comfort zone. Usually, in RL I stick to earth tones and more neutral shades that don't bring attention to myself. The RL skirt was what caught my eye, due to its beautiful color and the pattern. 

See what I mean!? lol The skirt is what sold me on this outfit. So anyway, I decided to take this outfit and mimic it in SL. Believe me, it was easier said than done....lol...by a long shot.  The skirt I ended up creating myself the old fashioned way. As my friend refers to them as "painted on" clothes lol and a prim skirt attachment. I decided to create the skirt  myself because 1) I couldn't find anything on SL with the same texture/pattern (or anything close) and 2) the skirts that I did find were mostly mini-skirts or micro minis. 

If I were to re-do this outfit, I definitely would have attempted to create the same skirt in mesh, but other than that, I LOVE this outfit the way it is!

Not every piece is an identical match, but I wanted to put my own flair with it. Ok, so who is the designer? Did you try to guess? Well this outfit is from the 2010 runway collection that belongs to Tommy Hilfiger :) . Yes, I am a Tommy Hilfiger fan and love his casual looks. If you are unfamiliar with his designs, definitely check him out! Challenge yourself to mimic RL as well, it was definitely fun and challenging!!

Lady Charltina does it again!!

My oh my Charltina Christensen has struck again! I blogged outfits for her Asian Show previously and loved the way that they fit, they way they looked on me and how easy it was to find accessories to style them. The Asian Show went wonderfully and all of the models on the runway look fabulous. It was a great time!!

There was a second Asian Show, same theme just another day/time for the show, but unfortunately it had to be rescheduled. As of now, there has been no definite date posted. However, Lady Charltina handed me a gown and didn't say a word. She just passed the box to me. So, of course I asked for clarification....that's just me, lol. I received my instructions and proceeded to unpack the box.

The first thing that happened after unpacking and trying this gown on.....my jaw hit the floor in utter amazement! Then I said aloud, "OMG!" This gown is just amazing! I have NEVER been a girly girl nor one to wear gown such as this, but when I put this on, I felt lifted and stylish, not to mention gorgeous! There is nothing more that I can say about this gown...it definitely speaks for itself. Great job Lady Charltina!!!!
